It introduces several new characters, including Blue's sister Isabella, and more importantly Sonny Shine, a children's TV personality who is the true power behind the child trafficking ring as Mr. The first season of the television show is a mostly-close adaptation of the comic, with several key differences. Sax saves his daughter, dying in the process, but not before taking Mr. The Santa Claus reveals he too can see imaginary friends, and is eventually defeated by a mob of imaginary friends from all the children he's kidnapped. Sax goes through a wild Christmas Eve, constantly questioning whether Happy is real or a delusion of his damaged brain, while seeing things that would otherwise be impossible to explain. Blue, a powerful crime lord, and the same mob boss who holds that bank account. The Santa in turn works for a child trafficking ring, run by Mr. He is then recruited by his daughter's imaginary friend, Happy, to rescue her from a kidnapping Santa Claus. The story opens with Sax carrying out a hit on four brothers with mob connections, one of whom holds a password to a massive mob bank account. Happy! follows Nick Sax, an alcoholic, drug-addicted former detective now finding work as a hitman. In an unusual departure for Morrison, Happy! the comic featured very few supernatural elements beyond the imaginary friends themselves.
